Rovio, the developer of Angry Birds, is likely to go public

Rovio has recently reported its financial achievement for 2011. It booked total revenue of 75.4 million euros (or 106,3 million of US dollars) and managed to earn 48 million euros (or 67.6 million of US dollars) before taxes imposition in 2011. The percentage rate of the taxes comes down to 64% of company’s total revenue during the full calendar year- that seems to be quite a significant profit margin.

By the end of the last year, the 648 million game application was officially downloaded. The total amount of active monthly users, playing this game across all platforms, has  reached 200 million. Its headcount has also grown from 28 to 224 in 2011.

The U.S. Navy Research promised that the pirate’s outrage on the high seas will soon be coped with due to a new generation of pirate-counteracting devices, provided with 3D imaging laser technology. These are “robotocopers”, the drones that identify pirate ships scanning the seas below with special radars. Robocopter is the first aircraft model to operate a brand-new laser-radar technology (LADAR), which is actually a 3D images collector. High-definition cameras spot boat images, and then advanced sensors study the captured objects to recognize whether they are pirate watercrafts or not.

The survey also showed that a lot of consumers are reluctant to use mobile banking because they simply don’t need it. More than a half of those asked said that they were concerned about drawbacks at security level.
